The first weekend has always been a blessed couple of days for me. I learn the strength of what I had planted and whether I needed to make changes or everything was good. More of the former than the later, but its time for a new game plan if things aren’t working.

The Ice Cream are quite a bit back but are starting to come to life. I got a plan for these finally and will be adding a new category for the graduation of sort when the plants hit the actual ground. I’ll show you my flowerbeds as they grow too. The Dahlia’s (Akita and Cafe Au Lait) started to show some life, they start with sprouting stems. The stems grow from the roots uner the dirt or they pick an odd spot on old stem. This has me thinking that maybe in Austin, these guys would be fine if pruned to ground level. Might be something I try when it gets cold. The Ferdy’s seem taller but I’ve still got them in their original shipped containers because of real estate, but I’ve watered them more than the others. It seems like the there is only a top layer of dried out dirt but they are still wet underneath in the pots. Could be why things have been slow for some. I’m about to get the folaige feeding page up because the plants are calling for it. Remember, Getting the light and water is 2/3 the battle. Nutrition is the last 3rd.
Hydroponics has optimized this last ingredient to the point it skews the numbers. And in a way, lighting has too. Whoever thought, that someday, we could grow something better as long as we avoided natural sunlight and getting it into the ground?
We will see if we embrace the change?
